Our Manufacturing Process for Perfect Treated Round Fence Posts
Wood Selection
Sorting Through Nature’s Finest Logs
We harvest the Red Pine plantation trees. The trees are cut to specific dimensions, ensuring each post meets our rigorous standards for uniform length, consistent diameter, and high-quality wood. These logs are then sorted by size with the sorter machine.
Post Peeling
Peeling to Perfection
The logs are then put into our post peeler, peels the bark off of the wood, and produces a perfect round wood post, which is the same diameter, the entire length of the post.
Kiln-Drying
Precision Drying for Maximum Absorption
The round wood posts are stacked into bundles and ready to be loaded into our kiln. Kiln-drying allows the posts to dry evenly and consistently, preventing several potential issues including warping, cracking, pest infestations, and premature rot or decay.
CCA Pressure Treatment
25 or 30-Year Protection, Locked In
The bundles of posts are then loaded into our treating cylinder for treatment, where the vacuum opens the wood’s cells and the posts are injected with .40 CCA (Chromated Copper Arsenate) or .60 CCA under high pressure. Our fence posts are CCA-treated to ensure decades of durability and longevity.
Drip-Pad
Where Excess Treatment Exits & Long-Term Strength Sets In
After treatment, each post rests in the drip pad for 2–3 days, allowing the CCA preservative to settle and deeply absorb while excess preservative drains off. We take samples by drilling 1.5 inches into the wood at approximately 20 different points, to verify treatment depth.
